NSACA Accreditation
As of September 3, 2002, North Carolina has eleven school-age care programs that were awarded NSACA Accreditation since November of 2001. Twenty eight of the 307 accredited programs in the United State are in North Carolina. NSACA Accreditation lasts for three years. Programs must adhere to specific standards of “best practices” in school-age care for children and youth between the ages of 5 and 14. The standards for quality are organized into five categories: human relationships; indoor environment; outdoor environment; activities; safety, health and nutrition; and administration.
The following newly accredited programs were acknowledged at the 2002 NCSACC Conference in Greensboro, North Carolina on November 9th. Congratulations to these programs!
